Do you have any discounts or incentives?
We're so glad you asked! All of our services are priced competitively and we love to thank our customers for their business. We offer pet birthday credits and if you love our service and tell a friend about it, you'll also get a $10 credit that you can use anytime!
How do I pay?
We accept online credit card and ACH payments through our secure software and app, Time to Pet. We are completely paperless and tree-friendly! Once you create an account and start booking services, invoices will be automatically generated for you and accessible within your portal.
Do you offer any free trials?
Yes, we do! We offer a free walk to all of our new customers during our inital meeting. We want both you and your pup to feel comfortable with us before starting care.
What's the best way to reach you?
We encourage clients to use our Time to Pet portal for all communications for the best quality services. If you're interested in working with us, schedule a call with us to get started so we can learn more about you and your pets.
Where do you provide services?
We are based in Vineyard Haven and we give priority to fur-families in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown (except Katama). Unfortunately, we are unable to help new clients in Katama, West Tisbury, Chilmark, Aquinnah and Chappy.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a flexible cancellation policy. At Al Fresco Tails, you are not locked into a contract. We understand that life is unpredicable and that sometimes plans change. There is no penalty for canceling services with adequate notice. Take a look at our current policies for more information about cancellations.
How do I start scheduling walks for my dog?
Do you offer boarding?
We believe that pets are safest and most comfortable in their own home. However, we highly recommend all of the sitters listed on our blog. Check it out!
Why should I hire a professional dog walker?
It's easy to think that just about everyone can walk a dog fairly easily, so why not just ask a neighbor or friend? What is Time to Pet?
Time to Pet is the online management software we use for communicating with all of our clients, scheduling, invoicing, payments, and keeping your information secure and up-to-date. The Time to Pet app is available for both iOS and Android. Time To Pet is fully PCI Compliant (for validation: https://www.timetopet.com/pci). Forget about searching for emails you sent weeks ago. All of the information about your pets and their schedule is available in your portal!
What forms do I need to fill out?
We don’t like forms. Our enrollment process is simple. We come to your home and visit you & your dog (or cat) to get all your doggie’s (or kitty's) details. You sign a liability waiver and provide us with a key to your home (we’re bonded). We are ready to start helping you!
Does someone have to be home?
Nope! At Al Fresco Tails, we’re all about convenience! During our "Meet & Greet" we will get all your doggie’s pick up & drop off information and a copy of your house key. Rest assured we are fully bonded and insured.
Do you walk all breeds?
What will my dog need for a walk?
Will you walk my dog on a prong collar?
As certified Fear-Free professionals, we don't use any aversive equipment, including prong, choke, pinch, shock, or e-collars, when exercising and walking your dogs. We want your dog to be completely relaxed, happy, and safe in our care. In the event that you use aversive collars, we will supply a properly-fitted harness and leash to help prevent any injury to your dog.
Can you walk my dog at 3pm every Thursday?
Depending on our current schedule, we may have a spot for your dog between 3-5:30pm every Thursday. Due to the nature of our business, we cannot visit pets at specific times. Time windows allow us flexibility in the event of inevitable delays, not limited to traffic, weather patterns, and cleaning up potty accidents. How far in advance should I reserve overnight care?
We recommend reserving care as far as 6-8 weeks in advance. Our schedule fills up very quickly especially during the holidays!
